Special Membership Meeting

Vic-President Ed Byrne opened the meeting at 11:00am.  The purpose of the meeting was to approve changes to the revised Constitution and By-Laws. Ed explained that an AdHoc Committee consisting of himself, Fred Hart, Norbert Michaud, Nancy Dungan, Kelly McCafferty, Bob Westall and Charles Russo had proposed the changes. 

 

Ed then distributed the new Constitution and Bylaws, revised Oct 2010.  He explained the Executive Board had approved the changes in 2009 and he recommended the membership also approve as written.

 

Ed reviewed several comments he had received from members, which were discussed leading to no further changes other than removing “and sponsorship “from the Article I title.

 

Bob Westall made a motion to accept the Proposed Constitution and Bylaws with Fred Hart seconding the motion.  It was approved by 12 yes votes and 65 proxies votes.

 

Jan Cone proposes the Board consider not charging substitutes to cover for members.  She said it is getting hard to get substitutes and the charge makes it even harder.  Ed proposed that it be left up to the individual.  The final proposal was to set a $5 charge at indoor venues for substitutions.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 12:15pm
